The Council also approves the Commission's request that the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, continue to review the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan and submit a report to the General Assembly and the Commission.

INTRODUCTION 1. In its resolution 38/4, entitled " Palestinian women " , the Commission on the Status of Women requested the Secretary-General to continue to review the situation of and to assist Palestinian women by all available means, and to submit to the Commission, at its thirty-ninth session, a report on the progress made in the implementation of the resolution.

In its resolution 2003/77, the Commission on Human Rights invited the Special Rapporteur on violence against women to continue to review the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan and to submit a report to the General Assembly and to the Commission.
