٣٧- وفي دراسة مستقلـة قامـت بها اللجنـة اﻷمريكية اليهودية، جرى النظر في ٥٥٧ ٤ جريمة كانت وزارة العدل قد حصرتها: كان أكثـر مـن ٥٧ فـي المائة من الجرائم بدافع الكراهية المرتكبة ببواعث عنصرية قد استهدف اﻷمريكيين من أصل افريقي، وهناك ٧١٩ جريمة بدافع الكراهية ارتكبت بسبب اختلاف الديانات، ٧٨ في المائة منهـا استهـدف اليهـود)٤٤(.
