Ms. de Armas García (Cuba) warned that, if countries did not assume their responsibilities for the present generation, their children would see only the “remnants” of modern civilization which, despite the efforts of the international community, was failing in the face of disease, malnutrition, infant mortality, armed conflicts, wars and indiscriminate bombings.
