Having organized a thematic discussion on descent-based discrimination and received the contributions of members of the Committee, as well as contributions from some Governments and members of other United Nations bodies, notably experts of the Sub-Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights,

Concluding that fresh efforts need to be made as well as existing efforts intensified at the level of domestic law and practice to eliminate the scourge of descent-based discrimination and empower communities affected by it,
وإذ تخلص إلى ضرورة بذل جهود جديدة وتكثيف الجهود الحالية، على صعيد القوانين والممارسات المحلية، للقضاء على آفة التمييز على أساس النسب وتمكين المجتمعات المتأثرة به من إعمال حقوقها،

Recalling its general recommendation No. 29 (2002) on descent-based discrimination, the Committee recommends that the State party:
توصي اللجنة الدولة الطرف بالآتي، مذكّرةً بتوصيتها العامة التاسعة والعشرين بشأن التمييز القائم على النسب:

descent-based discrimination is mainly of three types in Africa.

The Committee urges the State party to take into account general recommendation No. 29 (2002) on descent-based discrimination.

These two thematic debates led to the adoption of general recommendation XXVII on discrimination against Roma and general recommendation XXIX on descent-based discrimination.

The Committee also suggests that the State party take into account its general recommendation XXIX on descent-based discrimination when gathering information on the situation of the Paekjong community.
كما تقترح أن تراعي الدولة الطرف التوصية العامة التاسعة والعشرين بشأن التمييز بسبب النسب عند جمعها المعلومات المتعلقة بوضع جماعة بايكيونغ.

The Committee has therefore held a number of thematic debates on such issues, including in particular on issues related to discrimination against Roma (August 2000), descent-based discrimination (August 2002) and non-citizens and racial discrimination (March 2004).
