For the sake of consistency, General Assembly resolution 1541 (XV), entitled " Principles which should guide Members in determining whether or not an obligation exists to transmit the information called for under Article 73e of the Charter " should have been cited as one of the relevant resolutions in the preambular paragraphs of the draft resolution.

You will recall that, in 1960, the General Assembly adopted two resolutions on decolonization: the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, that is, resolution 1514 (XV), and resolution 1541 (XV), entitled " Principles which should guide Members in determining whether or not an obligation exists to transmit the information called for under Article 73 e of the Charter " .
