In this context, the Committee wishes to refer to its general recommendation XXIII, in which it calls upon States parties to ensure that members of indigenous peoples have equal rights in respect of effective participation in public life and that no decisions directly relating to their rights and interests are taken without their informed consent.
وتود اللجنة أن تشير في هذا الصدد إلى التوصية العامة الثالثة والعشرين، التي تدعو الدول الأطراف فيها أن تكفل مساواة أفراد الشعوب الأصلية في الحقوق فيما يتعلق بالمشاركة الفعلية في الحياة العامة وعدم اتخاذ أي قرارات تتصل مباشرة بحقوقهم ومصالحهم دون موافقة منهم على بيّنة.

In its general recommendation XXIII, on the rights of indigenous peoples, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination calls upon States to " ensure that members of indigenous peoples have rights in respect of effective participation in public life and that no decisions directly relating to their rights and interests are taken without their informed consent " (para. 4 (d)).
