We welcome the Hyogo Declaration and the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015: Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters, adopted at the World Conference on Disaster Reduction, held in January 2005, which identifies strategic objectives and priority areas to reduce disaster risks in the next 10 years.
