4 - لا تعتبر التدابير الخاصة التي تهدف إلى التعجيل بتحقيق المساواة الفعلية للمعوقين تمييزا على النحو المعرَّف في هذه الاتفاقية، لكن يتعين ألا يترتب عليها بأي حال من الأحوال استمرار تطبيق معايير متفاوتة أو منفصلة؛ وتوقف تلك التدابير عند تحقيق أهداف التكافؤ في الفرص والمعاملة.

Consequently, a treaty body member shall not be considered to have a real or perceived conflict of interest as a consequence of his or her race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, colour, descent or any other basis for discrimination as defined in the core international human rights treaties.
وبناء على ذلك، لا يعتبر أن لدى عضو هيئة معاهدة تضارب حقيقي أو متصوَّر في المصالح نتيجة جنسه أو أصله العرقي أو دينه أو نوع جنسه أو إصابته بحالة إعاقة أو لونه أو سلالته أو أي أساس آخر للتمييز كما هو معرَّف في المعاهدات الدولية الأساسية لحقوق الإنسان.
