Paragraph 1 of Article 29 provides that any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of the Convention which is not settled by negotiation, shall be referred to arbitration, and where there is no agreement on the organisation of the arbitration, the dispute may be referred to the International Court of Justice.

Paragraph 2 of Article 18 of the Stockholm Convention provides that " a Party that is not a regional economic integration organization may declare in a written instrument submitted to the depositary that, with respect to any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of the Convention, it recognizes one or both of the following means of dispute settlement as compulsory in relation to any Party accepting the same obligation:

23. Notes that States parties to an international agreement related to the purposes of the Convention may submit to, inter alia, the Tribunal or the International Court of Justice any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of that agreement which is submitted to it in accordance with that agreement, and notes also the possibility, provided for in the statutes of the Tribunal and the Court, to submit disputes to a chamber;

This Declaration does not apply to any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of SPECIFIC_TREATY [or: relating to SPECIFIC_FACTS] [or: relating to SPECIFIC_DOMAIN].

33. It was noted that article 288 of the Convention conferred jurisdiction on the Tribunal, and on the International Court of Justice or on an arbitral tribunal, to deal with any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of the Convention.
33 - ولوحظ أن المادة 288 من الاتفاقية تخول المحكمة الدولية لقانون البحار، ومحكمة العدل الدولية أو أي محكمة تحكيم، اختصاص النظر في أي منازعة تتعلق بتفسير الاتفاقية أو تطبيقها.
