1. each State Party shall take appropriate measures in accordance with its domestic legal system and within its means to provide effective protection from potential retaliation or intimidation for witnesses and experts who give testimony concerning offences established in accordance with this Convention and, as appropriate, for their relatives and other persons close to them.

1. each State Party shall take appropriate measures within its means to promote the active participation of individuals and groups outside the public sector, such as civil society, non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations, in the prevention of and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption.
1- تتخذ كل دولة طرف تدابير مناسبة ضمن حدود امكاناتها لتشجيع أفراد وجماعات لا ينتمون إلى القطاع العام، مثل المجتمع المدني والمنظمات غير الحكومية والمنظمات الأهلية، على المشاركة بنشاط في منع الفساد ومحاربته، ولاذكاء وعي الناس فيما يتعلق بوجود الفساد وأسبابه وجسامته وما يمثله من خطر.

1. each State Party shall take appropriate measures for identification, detection, freezing or seizure of any funds, assets or other property used in any manner in order to commit the offences referred to in this Convention, and the proceeds derived from such offences, for purposes of possible forfeiture.
١ - تتخذ كل دولة طرف التدابير المناسبة لتحديد أو كشف أو تجميد أو حجز أي أموال أو أصول أو غير ذلك من الممتلكات المستخدمة بأي شكل من اﻷشكال، لارتكاب الجرائم المشار إليها في هذه الاتفاقية، واﻷرباح الناشئة عن هذه الجرائم وذلك ﻷغراض مصادرتها عند الاقتضاء.

1. each State Party shall take appropriate measures, in accordance with its domestic legal principles, for the identification, detection and freezing or seizure of any funds used or allocated for the purpose of committing the offences set forth in article 2 as well as the proceeds derived from such offences, for purposes of possible forfeiture.
١ - تتخذ كل دولة طرف التدابير المناسبة وفقا لمبادئها القانونية المحلية لتحديد أو كشف وتجميد أو حجز أي أموال مستخدمة أو مخصصة لغرض ارتكاب الجرائم المبينة في المادة ٢، وكذلك العائدات اﻵتية من هذه الجرائم وذلك ﻷغراض مصادرتها عند الاقتضاء.
