In the final communiqué of the meeting (A/48/401, annex), the Ministers for Foreign Affairs reviewed the current developments concerning the decolonization process of the United Nations and took note of the position of the administering Powers and the leaders of the Non-Self-Governing Territories in the Caribbean that they were primarily concerned with economic and financial viability.
وفي البيان الختامي الذي صدر عن الاجتماع )A/48/401، المرفق(، استعرض وزراء الخارجية التطورات الجارية المتعلقة بعملية إنهاء الاستعمار التي تتولاها اﻷمم المتحدة، وأحاطوا علما بموقف الدول القائمة بالادارة وزعماء اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي في منطقة البحر الكاريبي، ويتبين من هذا الموقف أن اهتمامهم ينصب في المقام اﻷول على إمكانية البقاء اقتصاديا وماليا.

13. Decides to follow the situation in the Non-Self-Governing Territories so as to ensure that all economic activities in those Territories are aimed at strengthening and diversifying their economies in the interest of their peoples, including the indigenous populations, and at promoting the economic and financial viability of those Territories;
١٣ - تقرر أن تواصل متابعة الحالة في اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي لكي تكفل أن تكون جميع اﻷنشطة الاقتصادية في تلك اﻷقاليم موجﱠهة نحو دعم وتنويع اقتصاداتها لصالح شعوب اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي، ومن بينها السكان اﻷصليون، ونحو تعزيز القدرات الاقتصادية والمالية لتلك اﻷقاليم؛
