٤٣ - وتعيد الدول الأطراف تأكيد عزمها على الوفاء بالتزاماتها بموجب المادة السادسة، ولا سيما التزامات الدول الحائزة للأسلحة النووية بأن تعقد، بحسن نية، مفاوضات بشأن التدابير الفعالة لوقف سباق التسلح النووي في موعد مبكر ولنزع الأسلحة النووية.

Enlarging upon this to set out a core list of elements that will form an essential part of any instrument or arrangement of instruments creating the set of " effective measures relating to cessation of the arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament " that article VI of the Non-Proliferation Treaty obliges States to elaborate, the following is suggested:
٢٦ - سعيا للقيام على هذا الأساس بوضع قائمة أساسية من العناصر التي ستشكل جزءا جوهريا من أي صك أو توليفة من الصكوك تُنشئ مجموعة " التدابير الفعالة المتعلقة بوقف سباق التسلح النووي في موعد قريب وبنزع السلاح النووي " ، على النحو الذي أُلزمت به الدول بموجب المادة السادسة من المعاهدة، يُقترح ما يلي:

Article VI of the Treaty obliges NWS Parties " to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament. "
وتُلزِم المادة السادسة من المعاهدة الدول الأطراف الحائزة لأسلحة نووية " بأن تجري مفاوضات بحسن نية لاتخاذ تدابير فعالة تتعلق بوقف سباق التسلح النووي في موعد مبكر وبنزع السلاح النووي. "

The graduality of the disarmament process was originally contemplated by article VI of the NPT, which mentions negotiations on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament.

إذ يدرك الالتزامات الرسمية التي تعهدت بها الدول الأطراف في المادة السادسة من معاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية، بإجراء مفاوضات بحسن نية بشأن اتخاذ تدابير فعالة تتعلق بوقف سباق الأسلحة النووية في موعد قريب وبنزع السلاح النووي،

In this regard, we urge those nuclear Powers and other States which are currently stressing issues of non-proliferation to the detriment of nuclear disarmament to unambiguously face up to the obligation which all States parties to the NPT assumed under article VI, including the commitment to " pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament " .
