وبموجب قانون الجنسية فإن الميلاد في مصر من أسباب منح الجنسية المصرية مثل حالة اللقطاء وأبناء الأم المصرية وحالة كون الأبوين من مجهولي الجنسية.

The First National Conference on Women in Egypt, held in 1994, recommended that consideration should be given to alleviating the difficulties faced by the children of an Egyptian mother and an alien father.
وقد أوصى المؤتمر القومي الأول للمرأة المصرية المعقود في عام 1994 بالنظر في تخفيف الأعباء المادية المطلوبة من أبناء الأم المصرية من أب أجنبي.

Article 4 asserts the right of a child to his or her legal ancestry by all possible means. The Law also asserts the right of the child to nationality and the non-discrimination against a child born to an Egyptian mother and a foreign father.
وكفلت المادة 4 للطفل حقه للنسب إلى والديه الشرعيين، وحقه في إثبات نسبه الشرعي إليهما بكافة الوسائل، وأكد القانون حق الطفل في الجنسية، وقضى بعدم التمييز ضد طفل الأم المصرية المتزوجة من أجنبي.

In that regard and in implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Egypt has made great strides in reducing mother and child mortality rates. We have also completely eradicated poliomyelitis and tetanus contracted at childbirth and introduced the right to Egyptian nationality for children born to an Egyptian mother and a foreign father.
وفي هذا الإطار، وتنفيذا للأهداف الإنمائية للألفية، حققت مصر قفزة رائعة في تقليل وفيات الأطفال والأمهات، وقضت نهائيا على شلل الأطفال وعلى التيتانوس المصاحب للولادة، ومنحت أطفال الأم المصرية المتزوجة من أجنبي الجنسية المصرية.

The new law also, inter alia, abolished the requirement for a wife to seek her husband's authorization before applying for a passport and gave the children of an Egyptian mother married to a foreigner an equal right to Egyptian nationality.
وقد أدى أيضا القانون الجديد، في جملة أمور، إلى إلغاء الشرط الذي يقتضي من الزوجة طلب موافقة زوجها قبل التقدم بطلب الحصول على جواز سفر وإلى منح أطفال الأم المصرية المتزوجة إلى أجنبي الحق في الجنسية المصرية على قدم المساواة مع غيرهم.

The Committee expresses its concern at the nationality law, which prevents an Egyptian mother married to a foreigner from passing on her nationality to her children.

282. The measures referred to in this recommendation have been implemented, as indicated in part I, section D, of this report, in that, pursuant to Act No. 154 of 2004 amending the Nationality Act, Egyptian nationality may now be passed on to the children of an Egyptian mother married to a non-national.

وبالنسبة للآثار المتعلقة بالأبناء القصر فقد أجاز القانون في حالة تغيير جنسيتهم تبعا لجنسية الأب أن يقرروا بعد بلوغ سن الرشد اختيار جنسيتهم الأصلية، وقد أوصى المؤتمر القومي الأول للمرأة المصرية (1994) بالنظر في تخفيف الأعباء المادية المطلوبة من أبناء الأم المصرية من أب أجنبي .
