Mr. Elbakly (Egypt) (spoke in Arabic): I should like first, on behalf of the Group of African States, to convey our heartfelt condolences on the passing of King Taufa'ahaù Tupou IV of Tonga on 10 September.

On 30 April 2004, the Commission elected, by acclamation, John William Ashe (Antigua and Barbuda) as Chairman and Khaled Aly Elbakly (Egypt) and Dagmara Berbalk (Germany) as Vice-Chairpersons of its thirteenth session and decided to postpone the election of the other members of the Bureau to a future meeting.
