3. Some States parties fail to collect data on the ethnic or national origin of their citizens or of other persons living on their territory, but decide at their own discretion which groups constitute ethnic groups or indigenous peoples that are to be recognized and treated as such.

36. UNHCR, however, took the view that any application of this rule based upon any form of racial, ethnic or national origin or other forms of discrimination would be classified as both unreasonable and disproportionate, and thus a violation of international law.

451. Concern is expressed over reports of discriminatory practices affecting residents of non-Danish ethnic or national origin, especially in respect of employment, housing and bank loans.
٤٥١ - وأعرب عن القلق لورود تقارير تتعلق بممارسات تمييزية تمس المقيمين من أصل عرقي أو قومي غير دانمركي، ولا سيما فيما يتعلق بالعمالة واﻹسكان والقروض المصرفية.

Equality legislation of 2004 prohibits discrimination on the basis of age, ethnic or national origin, language, religion, belief, opinion, health, disability or sexual orientation.
ويحظر قانون المساواة لعام 2004 التمييز على أساس السن أو الأصل العرقي أو القومي أو اللغة أو الدين أو المعتقد أو الرأي أو الصحة أو الإعاقة أو الميل الجنسي.

In its general recommendation XXX, the Committee recommended that States parties to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, ethnic or national origin in expelling aliens and in allowing them to pursue effective remedies in case of expulsion:

The Committee recommends that the State party continue its efforts to ensure the rights of the immigrant population as regards discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnic or national origin.
وتوصي اللجنة الدولة الطرف بمواصلة جهودها لضمان حقوق المهاجرين فيما يتعلق بالتمييز القائم على أساس الأصل العرقي أو الإثني أو القومي.

Please, stop and ponder for a moment the implications of this act: a State has withdrawn citizenship from thousands of law-abiding citizens simply because of their ethnic or national origin.
