30. Recognizing the need for diversity in national policies, UNCTAD should identify, from the point of view of trade and development and in light of the successful and less successful development experiences of the past, the basic elements of sound macroeconomic policies that are conducive to an expansion of productive capacity and productivity, faster and sustained growth, employment creation and poverty alleviation.
