The Arab States remind the international community that the resolution on the Middle East, which was adopted at the 1995 Review and Extension Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, was one of the most important outcomes of that Conference and one of the fundamental elements that made it possible to extend the Treaty indefinitely without a vote.
1 - تُذكر الدول العربية المجتمع الدولي بأن قرار الشرق الأوسط الصادر عن مؤتمر الأطراف لمراجعة معاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية وتمديدها عام 1995، يشكل أحد أهم نتائج مؤتمر عام 1995، ويعتبر الركيزة الأساسية التي جرى على أساسها تمديد المعاهدة إلى أجلٍ غير مسمى وبدون تصويت.

It is important to recall that not only were the States party to the Treaty able to extend the Treaty indefinitely, but also, they were able to reach that historic decision without resorting to a vote.

The decision to extend the Treaty indefinitely also answers the international community's desire for stability and gives the NPT the permanence that will make it possible to achieve its objectives in full: consolidation of the non-proliferation regime, confirmation of the disarmament process and continuance of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

The Commission reaffirms the importance of the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East and recalls that the resolution on the Middle East adopted by the 1995 Review and Extension Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons is an integral and essential part of the decision to extend the Treaty indefinitely.
9 - وتؤكد الهيئة من جديد على أهمية إنشاء منطقة خالية من الأسلحة النووية في الشرق الأوسط، وتشير إلى أن القرار المتعلق بالشرق الأوسط الذي اتخذه مؤتمر الأطراف في معاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية لاستعراض المعاهدة وتمديدها في عام 1995 يشكل جزءا أصيلا وأساسيا من قرار تمديد المعاهدة إلى أجل غير مسمى.

It must be recalled that the decision to extend the Treaty indefinitely was taken in an overall context that included a decision on the strengthening of the Treaty review process, a decision on the principles and objectives for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, a decision on the indefinite extension of the Treaty and a resolution on the establishment of a zone free of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East.

Takes note that on 11 May 1995, the 1995 Review and Extension Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons decided in terms of its article X, paragraph 2, to extend the Treaty indefinitely and adopted two decisions on strengthening the review process for the Treaty and the principles and objectives for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament,
