The Committee is concerned that the State party's Constitution contains exceptions to the principle of non-discrimination in matters relating to adoption, marriage, divorce, burial, devolution of property, death or other matters that fall within the provisions of personal law, as well as where customary law is applicable, in contravention of articles 2 and 16 of the Convention.

(b) Include in the Constitution and other appropriate legislation provisions which prohibit direct and indirect discrimination against women in the public and private spheres and in matters relating to adoption, marriage, divorce, burial, devolution of property, death or other matters that fall within the provisions of personal law;
