In its resolution 10/14 on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Optional Protocols thereto, adopted on 26 March 2009, the Council decided to focus its next resolution and annual full-day meeting on the rights of the child on the fight against sexual violence against children.

15. In March 2010, during its thirteenth session, the Human Rights Council held its annual full-day discussion on the rights of the child, focusing on the fight against sexual violence against children.

In 2011, the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on violence against children pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 13/20 entitled " Rights of the child: the fight against sexual violence against children " submitted a joint report to the Council.

2. The annual full-day meeting on the fight against sexual violence against children took place on 10 March 2010, and was aimed at raising awareness about sexual violence against children, reaffirming existing standards and commitments, highlighting good practices and lessons learnt from work over the years, as well as identifying key challenges and anticipating future work.
2- وقد عقد الاجتماع السنوي بشأن مكافحة العنف الجنسي بالأطفال في 10 آذار/مارس 2010 وكان يهدف إلى إذكاء الوعي بالعنف الجنسي الذي يمارس على الأطفال، وأكد من جديد المعايير والالتزامات القائمة، وأبرز الممارسات السليمة والدروس المستفادة من العمل الذي اضطُلع به على مر السنين، وكذا التعرف على التحديات الرئيسية واستشراف آفاق العمل المقبل.
