At the first global meeting of the Indigenous Peoples' Forum in February 2013, representatives of indigenous peoples had called on IFAD for increased capacity-building support and efforts to encourage participation by indigenous peoples, in addition to more effective implementation of the Policy on Engagement with Indigenous Peoples.
