١٧ - يطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يتابع تنفيذ هذا القرار، مع إيلاء اهتمام خاص لترتيبات التنسيق والتكامل لبلوغ أقصى حد من الكفاءة ﻷنشطة المساعدة التي تضطلع بها شتى مؤسسات منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة، وأن يقدم تقريرا بهذا الشأن إلى المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في دورته الموضوعية لعام ١٩٩٩؛

He further expressed the view that there is a clear emerging practice from international human rights bodies to follow the implementation of agreements.

In accordance with the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action and subsequent resolutions of the General Assembly and the Commission on Human Rights, the group of independent eminent experts will follow the implementation of this agenda through:

11. Emphasizes the importance of the appointment of the five independent eminent experts by the SecretaryGeneral to follow the implementation of the provisions of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, with the following terms of reference:
11- تؤكد أهمية قيام الأمين العام بتعيين الخبراء البارزين المستقلين الخمسة كي يقوموا بمتابعة تنفيذ أحكام إعلان وبرنامج عمل ديربان وتكون لهم الصلاحيات التالية:

That the Secretary-General should follow the implementation of this decision and the necessary communications to be made to the United Nations, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Group of the Non-Aligned Movement, and present a report thereon to the Council; and that it considers this session remains open.
٦ - أن يقوم اﻷمين العام بمتابعة تنفيذ هذا القرار وإجراء الاتصالات اللازمة بشأنه في اﻷمم المتحدة وكذلك مع منظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي ومجموعة حركة عدم الانحياز، وتقديم تقرير عنه إلى المجلس، واعتبار هذه الدورة مفتوحة.
