In Istanbul, parties adopted a comprehensive document, entitled " Istanbul Process on Regional Security and Cooperation for a Secure and Stable Afghanistan " , which goes well beyond previous documents by setting out regional ownership.

At a trilateral meeting held in Beijing on 3 April, the Russian Federation, China and Pakistan agreed to make concerted efforts to safeguard peace, stability and security in Afghanistan and the region, support the Afghan-led reconciliation process and strengthen cooperation against terrorism and for drug control within the framework of the Istanbul Process on Regional Security and Cooperation for a Secure and Stable Afghanistan.
وفي اجتماع ثلاثي عُقد في بيجين اتفق الاتحاد الروسي والصين وباكستان على بذل جهود متضافرة لصون السلام والاستقرار والأمن في أفغانستان والمنطقة، ودعم عملية المصالحة التي تقودها أفغانستان، وتعزيز التعاون في مكافحة الإرهاب ومكافحة المخدرات في إطار عملية اسطنبول للأمن والتعاون الإقليميين من أجل تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار في أفغانستان.

Also welcomes the Conference on Security and Cooperation in the Heart of Asia, and encourages Afghanistan and its regional partners to actively endeavour to implement confidence-building measures within the framework set out in the Istanbul Process on Regional Security and Cooperation for a Secure and Stable Afghanistan, adopted on 2 November 2011;

Commends the outcome of the Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan held on 2 November 2011, welcomes the ongoing Afghanled regional effort within the framework of the Istanbul Process on Regional Security and Cooperation for a Secure and Stable Afghanistan, and calls upon Afghanistan and its regional partners to continue to enhance regional dialogue and confidence;

Progress was made in regional cooperation and confidence-building in a wide range of areas at the " Heart of Asia " Ministerial Conference, held on 14 June in Kabul, which was the first ministerial-level follow-up meeting to the Istanbul Process on Regional Security and Cooperation for a Secure and Stable Afghanistan.
