74. At its 17th meeting, on 6 July, the Council held a special panel discussion on the theme " Promoting sustained, inclusive and equitable growth for accelerating poverty eradication and achievement of the Millennium Development Goals " .

Following the High-level Plenary Meeting, the Assembly, in its resolution 65/10, called for more attention to this issue and requested the Economic and Social Council to hold a panel discussion on sustained, inclusive and equitable economic growth for accelerating poverty eradication and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals during the substantive session of 2011.
