The Regional Plan of Action for Building the Information Society (RPoA) was expanded during 2007 with three additional projects proposed by the League of Arab States.
25- وُسِّعت خطة العمل الإقليمية لبناء مجتمع المعلومات خلال عام 2007 لتضم ثلاثة مشاريع إضافية اقترحتها جامعة الدول العربية.

(a) Increased implementation of the Regional Plan of Action for Building the Information Society, particularly in relation to the information and communication technology sector
(أ) زيادة تنفيذ خطة العمل الإقليمية لبناء مجتمع المعلومات ولا سيما فيما يتعلق بقطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات

(i) Advisory services: implementation of the Regional Plan of Action for Building the Information Society (including promoting the core ICT indicators as follow-up to the Tunis Agenda);
' 1` الخدمات الاستشارية: تنفيذ خطة العمل الإقليمية لبناء مجتمع المعلومات (بما في ذلك تطوير المؤشرات الرئيسية لتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات، متابعة لجدول أعمال تونس)؛

Attended by more than 275 participants, the main objectives of the conference were to review and follow-up on the implementation of the WSIS outcomes, the RPoA for Building the Information Society in Western Asia and the Arab ICT strategy and to update them in view of accumulated experience.
وكانت الأهداف الرئيسية للمؤتمر، الذي حضره أكثر من 275 مشاركاً، استعراض ومتابعة تنفيذ نتائج مؤتمر القمة العالمي لمجتمع المعلومات، وخطة العمل الإقليمية لبناء مجتمع المعلومات في غربي آسيا، والاستراتيجية العربية لتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات وتحديثها في ضوء الخبرة المتراكمة.

One also needs to ask, " and with what legal and economic restrictions and permissions, and with what kind of impact for Building the Information Society of today and tomorrow? " .
إذ يتعين طرح سؤال آخر هو " وعلى أساس أي القيود وأي المسموحات من الناحيتين القانونية والاقتصادية، وما هو تأثيره بالنسبة لبناء مجتمع المعلومات اليوم وغداً " .

d) International and regional institutions, including international financial institutions, have a key role in integrating the use of ICTs in the development process and making available necessary resources for Building the Information Society and for the evaluation of the progress made.

2. As the representatives of Indigenous peoples, nations and tribes, and recognizing the full diversity of Indigenous peoples, who live in both, urban, rural and remote settings, we declare the following fundamental principles for Building the Information Society that is inclusive of our cultural diversity and indigenous information communications styles and respects our rights in forming partnerships in action.
2 - وبوصفنا ممثلين للشعوب والأمم والقبائل الأصلية في العالم، التي تعيش في المناطق الحضرية والريفية على السواء وفي مناطق نائية، وإذ نعترف بالتنوع الكامل للشعوب الأصلية، نعلن المبادئ الأساسية التالية لبناء مجتمع المعلومات الشامل لتنوعنا الثقافي وأساليب تناقل المعلومات التي تأخذ بها الشعوب الأصلية ويحترم حقوقنا في تكوين الشراكات في العمل.

The subprogramme will, in 2008-2009, sustain its efforts towards improved understanding of opportunities and challenges faced at the national, regional and subregional levels for implementing the regional plan of action for Building the Information Society and improving connectivity in and between member States by enhancing affordability and unifying standards and through regional peering.
وسيواصل البرنامج الفرعي خلال فترة السنتين 2008-2009 الجهود التي يبذلها من أجل زيادة فهم الفرص والتحديات المجابهة على المستويات الوطنية ودون الإقليمية والإقليمية في تنفيذ خطة العمل الإقليمية لبناء مجتمع المعلومات وتحسين سبل الاتصال داخل الدول الأعضاء وفيما بينها، عن طريق تعزيز القدرة على تحمل النفقات، وتوحيد المعايير، وتعزيز الترتيبات الإقليمية لتبادل إرسال البيانات بين مقدمي خدمات الإنترنت.

64. The core competences of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the fields of ICTs -- assistance in bridging the digital divide, international and regional cooperation, radio spectrum management, standards development and the dissemination of information -- are of crucial importance for Building the Information Society.
64 - إن الاختصاصات الرئيسية للاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات في مجالات تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات - أي المساعدة على عبور الفجوة الرقمية والتعاون الدولي والإقليمي، وإدارة طيف التردد الراديوي، وتطوير المقاييس ونشر المعلومات - ذات أهمية حاسمة في بناء مجتمع المعلومات.

29. The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) has prepared a " Plan of Action for Building the Information Society in Western Asia " .
29- قامت اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغرب آسيا بإعداد " خطة عمل لبناء مجتمع معلومات في غرب آسيا " .
