The representative of Canada, speaking in her capacity as Chairperson of the Expert Meeting on Electronic Commerce and International Transport Services: Best Practices for Enhancing the Competitiveness of Developing Countries, reported that the Meeting had examined the impact of electronic commerce on international transport services, including economic, operational and legal aspects.
32- وتحدثت ممثلة كندا بصفتها رئيسة اجتماع الخبراء المعني بالتجارة الإلكترونية وخدمات النقل الدولي: أفضل الممارسات فيما يتعلق بدعم القدرة التنافسية للبلدان النامية، فأفادت بأن الاجتماع قد درس أثر التجارة الإلكترونية في خدمات النقل الدولي، بما في ذلك الجوانب الاقتصادية والتشغيلية والقانونية.

In its deliberations on the impact of electronic commerce on international transport services and best practices for Enhancing the Competitiveness of developing countries, the Commission took note of the secretariat documents available for consideration under this item 1.

أولاً - التجارة الإلكترونية وخدمات النقل الدولي: أفضل الممارسات لتعزيز القدرة التنافسية للبلدان النامية

We encourage local governments, in the context of specific local needs and conditions, to put in place policy frameworks for Enhancing the Competitiveness of the local economy and for facilitating investments and business expansion, including through the establishment of special economic zones, eco-science and industrial parks.
ونشجـع الحكومات المحلية على القيام، وفقا للاحتياجات والظروف الخاصة بكل منطقة على حدة، بـوضع أطـر من السياسات لتعزيز القدرة التنافسية للاقتصادات المحلية وتيسيـر الاستثمار وتوسيع قطاع الأعمال من خلال جملة من التدابير منها إقامـة مناطق اقتصادية خاصة، ومناطق إيكولوجية مخصصة للبحوث العلمية وأخرى صناعية.

In particular, UNCTAD should further analyse policy options for Enhancing the Competitiveness of developing country firms through their internationalization, including by developing linkages with larger international firms, integration into global value chains, and engaging in direct outward investment.
