Similarly, the Commission on Human Rights, at its fifty-fifth session, adopted resolution 1999/3 in which it, inter alia, reiterated its condemnation of mercenary activities and recognized that armed conflicts, terrorism, arms trafficking and covert operations by third Powers encourage the demand for mercenaries on the global market.
