In its resolution 1994/30, the Sub-Commission adopted a plan of action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the health of women and children.
واعتمدت اللجنة الفرعية في قرارها 1994/30 خطة عمل للقضاء على الممارسات التقليدية الضارة بصحة النساء والأطفال.

This will enable the Special Rapporteur to make recommendations on future action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices at the national, regional and international levels, as well as proposals for improved implementation of the Plan of Action.

10. Calls upon all Governments to give their full attention to the implementation of the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children;

This was followed by the birth of the Sudanese Society for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices in 1985 following the African Regional Conference, held in Dakar, and the World Conference to Review and Approve the Achievement of the United Nations Decade for Women, held in Nairobi.

The Subcommission adopted in its resolution 1994/30 of 26 August 1994, a Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children, submitted by the Special Rapporteur.

For this reason the Vice-President of Sudan announced, in January 1992, that the year 2000 had been set as the date for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices in Sudan.

The Centre published fact sheets in 1995 on the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, the work of CEDAW and United Nations activities undertaken for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the health of women and the girl child.

It is for these reasons that the Special Rapporteur is convinced that the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children, as elaborated on the basis of the two seminars and as adopted by the Subcommission at its forty-sixth session, provides a global framework for action at the national, regional and international levels.

On 28 April 1995, the Secretary-General sent a note verbale to Governments transmitting a request for any relevant documents and information, in particular on the effects of the implementation of the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children, to assist the Special Rapporteur in her work.
٤- وفي ٨٢ نيسان/أبريل ٥٩٩١، أرسل اﻷمين العام مذكرة شفوية إلى الحكومات يحيل فيها طلباً بإرسال أي وثائق أو معلومات ذات صلة، على اﻷخص، بآثار تنفيذ خطة العمل للقضاء على الممارسات التقليدية الضارة التي تؤثر في صحة النساء واﻷطفال، لمساعدة المقررة الخاصة في عملها.

The Special Rapporteur will consequently, in her final report, examine in depth the progress achieved and the difficulties encountered in the implementation of the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children, as contained in document E/CN.4/Sub.2/1994/10/Add.1 and Corr.1.

12. While the Division has not been monitoring the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children per se, issues addressed in the Plan constitute a significant part of the Division’s work.

As part of its activities to implement the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children,70 UNESCO has developed a programme to improve the biology curricula in schools, which involves the inclusion of information on the negative effects of female genital mutilation.
٣٦ - في جملة اﻷنشطة التي تضطلع بها اليونسكو لتنفيذ خطة العمل للقضاء على الممارسات التقليدية الضارة التي تؤثر على صحة النساء واﻷطفال)٧٠(، وضعت المنظمة برنامجا لتحسين المناهج الدراسية لمادة اﻷحياء تتضمن إدراج معلومات عن اﻵثار السلبية لتشويه اﻷعضاء التناسلية لﻹناث.

Calls upon all Governments to give their full attention to the implementation of the Plan of Action for the Elimination of Harmful Traditional Practices affecting the Health of Women and Children, and requests the Secretary-General to invite them to submit information regularly to the Sub-Commission on the situation regarding harmful traditional practices in their countries;
7- تهيب بالحكومات إيلاء اهتمامها التام لتنفيذ خطة العمل الرامية إلى القضاء على الممارسات التقليدية الضارة بصحة المرأة والطفلة، وترجو الأمين العام دعوة هذه الحكومات إلى تقديم معلومات إلى اللجنة الفرعية بصورة منتظمة عن الحالة السائدة في بلدانها فيما يتعلق بالممارسات التقليدية الضارة؛
