11. Decides to appropriate to the Special Account for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan the amount of 722,129,600 United States dollars for the period from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012 for the maintenance of the Mission;

The recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions contained in paragraphs 28 and 32 below would entail a reduction of $13,274,700 to the interim resource requirements for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), for the period from 1 July to 31 December 2014.

As indicated in my last report, one unit was deployed to provide temporary support for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in January, while another was diverted to support the start-up of MINUSMA.

The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions recommends approval of the proposals of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) for the period from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012 (A/66/532), subject to the observations and recommendations contained in the paragraphs below.

7. With regard to recently established missions, the increase in the proposed requirements for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) was mainly owing to the fact that the proposed 2012/13 budget for the Mission was based on detailed costs and actual experience, whereas the 2011/12 budget had been developed using the standardized funding model.

Of the amount of $482,460,550 appropriated by the General Assembly in its resolution 65/257 B, $137,532,000 is to be applied to the Special Account for UNMIS, $277,915,150 is to be applied to the Special Account for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the balance of $67,013,400 is to be applied to the Special Account for UNISFA.
