The Secretary-General, with the consent of the Security Council, therefore, removed the following item from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized:
وقام اﻷمين العام بناء على ذلك، بموافقة مجلس اﻷمن، بحذف البند التالي من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن:

Neither the removal of a matter from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized nor its retention carries any implication for the substance of the matter.
ولا ينطوي حذف مسألة من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن، أو اﻹبقاء عليها، على أي تأثير بالنسبة لموضوع هذه المسألة.

Accordingly, items 168 and 173 would be deleted from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized.
وحيث أن هذين البندين أدرجا في إطار البند الحالي فإنهما، وفقا لذلك، سيحذفان من قائمة المسائل التي ينظر فيها المجلس.

49. The Security Council agrees to continue to delete, with the prior consent of the Member States concerned, matters which have not been considered by the Council in the preceding five years from the list of matters of which the Council is seized, in accordance with the following procedure:
49 - يوافق مجلس الأمن على الاستمرار، بموافقة مسبقة من الدول الأعضاء المعنية، في حذف ما لم ينظر فيه المجلس في السنوات الخمس السابقة من مسائل من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على المجلس، وفقا للإجراء التالي:

15. In the absence of any notification by a Member State submitted by 28 February 1997 requesting the retention of an item listed in paragraph 14 above, those items will be deleted from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized.
١٥ - في حالة عدم قيام أي دولة عضو بإرسال إخطار قبل ٢٨ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧ تطلب فيه اﻹبقاء على بند من البنود الواردة في الفقرة ١٤ أعلاه، ستحذف هذه البنود من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على المجلس.

With reference to document S/1998/44 of 9 January 1998 concerning the deletion of certain items from the list of matters of which the Security Council is currently seized, I wish to make the following observations:
أود أن أشير إلى الوثيقة رقم S/1998/44 المؤرخة ٩ كانون الثاني/يناير ٨٩٩١ التي تتناول مسألة حذف بعض البنود من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن.

I have the honour to write to you with reference to document S/1998/44 concerning the deletion of certain items from the list of matters of which the Security Council is currently seized.
أتشرف بأن أكتب إلى سعادتكم باﻹشارة إلى الوثيقة S/1998/44 فيما يتعلق بحذف بنود معينة من قائمة المسائل المعروضة حاليا على مجلس اﻷمن.

In the absence of any further notification by a Member State submitted by 28 February 1997 requesting the retention of an item listed in paragraph 5 above, the remaining items mentioned therein, that is, items 39, 40, 41, 42 and 43, were deleted from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized.
ونظرا لعدم وجود أي إخطار آخر مقدم من دولة عضو قبل ٢٨ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧ يُطلب فيه الاحتفاظ ببند من البنود الواردة في الفقرة ٣ أعلاه، تم حذف بقية البنود المذكورة هناك، أي البنود ٥٤ و ٥٥ و ٥٦ و ٥٨ و ٥٩ من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن.

9. In the absence of any notification by a Member State submitted by 28 February 1998 requesting the retention of an item listed in paragraph 7 above, those items will be deleted from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized.
٩ - وفي حالة عدم قيام أي دولة عضو بإرسال إخطـار قبـل ٢٨ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٨ تطلب فيه اﻹبقاء على بند من البنود الواردة في الفقرة ٧ أعلاه، ستحذف هذه البنود من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن.

“2. The Security Council has decided that, as from 15 September 1996, matters which have not been considered by the Council in the preceding five years will be automatically deleted from the list of matters of which the Council is seized.
" ٢ - وقد قرر مجلس اﻷمن أن تحذف تلقائيا اعتبارا من ٥١ أيلول/سبتمبر ٦٩٩١، من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن تلك المسائل التي لم ينظر فيها مجلس اﻷمن في السنوات الخمس الماضية.

“2. With reference to paragraphs 2 and 3 of the note by the President of the Security Council, of 30 July 1996, the Council has decided that no item will be deleted from the list of matters of which the Council is seized without the prior consent of the Member States concerned in accordance with the following procedure:
" ٢ - وفيما يتعلق بالفقرتين ٢ و ٣ من مذكرة رئيس مجلس اﻷمن، قرر المجلس ألا يحذف أي بند من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن دون الموافقة المسبقة للدول اﻷعضاء المعنية وفقا لﻹجراء التالي:

A note by the President was issued on 24 January 1996 containing the Council's decision to remove four matters from the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized.
وصــدرت مــن رئيــس المجلس مذكرة في ٢٤ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٦ تتضمن قرار المجلس بحذف أربع مسائل من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على المجلس.

Again in January 1996, as part of the effort to improve the documentation of the Council, a note by the President was issued regarding the Council's decision to remove four issues from the list of matters of which the Council is seized.
ومرة أخرى، في كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٦، وكجزء من الجهود الرامية إلى تحسين وثائق المجلس، أصدر الرئيس مذكرة تتعلق بقرار المجلس بشطب أربع قضايا من قائمة المسائل التي ينظر فيها المجلس.

4. Also decides that it has concluded its consideration of the item entitled " The question of South Africa " and hereby removes this item from the list of matters of which the Council is seized.
٤ - يقرر أيضا اختتام النظر في البند المعنون " مسألة جنوب افريقيا " ويحذف هذا البند من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على المجلس. ــ ــ ــ ــ ــ

2. The Security Council has decided that, as of 15 September 1996, matters which have not been considered by the Council in the preceding five years will be automatically deleted from the list of matters of which the Council is seized.
٢ - وقد قرر مجلس اﻷمن أن تُحذف تلقائيا اعتبارا من ١٥ أيلول/سبتمبر ١٩٩٦، من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن تلك المسائل التي لم ينظر فيها مجلس اﻷمن في السنوات الخمس الماضية.

In August 1996, the Council established new procedures for the deletion of matters that had not been considered by the Council in the preceding five years from the list of matters of which the Council is seized (S/1996/603 and S/1996/704).
وفي آب/أغسطس 1996، وضع المجلس إجراءات جديدة تتعلق بحذف المسائل التي لم ينظر فيها المجلس في السنوات الخمس السابقة من قائمة المسائل المعروضة عليه S/1996/603) و (S/1996/704.

Pursuant to the procedure set out in those notes by the President of the Council, several items have been deleted from the list of matters of which the Council is seized (see appendix XIII).
وعملا بالإجراء المنصوص عليه في مذكرتي رئيس المجلس هاتين، حُذفت عدة بنود من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على المجلس (انظر التذييل الثالث عشر).
