The President of the Council subsequently received a letter from the President of Maldives regarding the recommendation of the Committee for Development Policy to graduate Maldives from the list of the least developed countries.
وتلقى فيما بعد رئيس المجلس رسالة من رئيس مالديف تتعلق بتوصية لجنة السياسات اﻹنمائية بتخريج مالديف من قائمة أقل البلدان نموا.

Discussions on smooth transitional measures for WTO members which will be graduating from the list of the least developed countries are under way; this is of particular concern for Maldives in view of the loss of special assistance entailed in its imminent graduation.
كما تجري مناقشات بشأن تدابير الانتقال السلس لأعضاء منظمة التجارة العالمية التي ستخرج من قائمة أقل البلدان نمواً، وهذا من دواعي قلق ملديف الشديد على ضوء فقدان المساعدات الخاصة التي ينطوي عليه خروجها.

I have the honour to refer to the decision of the Committee for Development Policy during its second session, in April 2000, to recommend to the Economic and Social Council that Maldives be graduated from the list of the least developed countries with immediate effect.
أتشرف بالإشارة إلى ما قررته لجنة السياسات الإنمائية، أثناء دورتها الثانية في نيسان/ أبريل 2000، من رفع اسم ملديف من قائمة أقل البلدان نموا، مع تنفيذ ذلك فورا.
