The Secretary-General has the honour to transmit to the Economic and Social Council for its consideration the attached report of the Executive Board of the World Food Programme on the revision of the General Regulations of the Programme.

The Committee endorsed the revisions of the General Regulations of the World Food Programme as contained in the Annex to document E/1997/49.

13. At the 19th meeting, on 8 July, the Council took note of the note by the Secretary-General transmitting the report of the Executive Board of the World Food Programme on the revision of the General Regulations of the World Food Programme (E/1997/49), endorsed the revisions and decided to transmit them to the General Assembly for consideration at its fifty-second session.
١٣ - أحاط المجلس علما، في جلسته ١٩، المعقودة في ٨ تموز/يوليه، بمذكرة اﻷمين العام التي يحيل بها تقرير المجلس التنفيذي لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي عن تنقيح النظام اﻷساسي العام لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي E/1997/49)(، واعتمد التنقيحات وقرر إحالتها إلى الجمعية العامة لكي تنظر فيها في دورتها الثانية والخمسين.

12. By its decision 1997/217 of 8 July 1997, entitled " Revision of the General Regulations of the World Food Programme " , the Economic and Social Council endorsed the revisions contained in the annex to the report of the Executive Board of the World Food Programme,E/1997/49. and decided to transmit them to the General Assembly for consideration at its fifty-second session.
١٢ - قام المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في مقرره ١٩٩٧/٢١٧ المؤرخ ٨ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٧، المعنون " تنقيح النظام اﻷساسي العام لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي " ، بإقرار التنقيحات الواردة في مرفق تقرير المجلس التنفيذي لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي)٥( وقرر إحالتها إلى الجمعية العامة لكي تنظر فيها في دورتها الثانية والخمسين.

13. At its 47th meeting, on 4 December, on the proposal of the Chairman, the Committee decided to recommend to the General Assembly that it endorse the revisions to the General Regulations of the World Food Programme, as contained in the annex to the report of the Executive Board of the World Food Programme (see para. 21, draft decision II).
١٣ - وقررت اللجنة، في جلستها ٤٧، المعقودة يوم ٤ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر، بناء على اقتراح الرئيس أن توصي الجمعية العامة بإقرار تنقيحات النظام اﻷساسي العام لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي بصيغتها الواردة في مرفق تقرير المجلس التنفيذي لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي )انظر الفقرة ٢١، مشروع المقرر الثاني(.

The Committee further agreed that the Working Group would also consider necessary changes in the General Regulations of the Programme that would arise from the move from the present project-based approach to a country-based programme approach as set out in General Assembly resolution 47/199 of 22 December 1992.
واتفقت اللجنة كذلك على أن يبحث الفريق العامل أيضا التغييرات اللازم إجراؤها في اﻷنظمة العامة للبرنامج نتيجة للانتقال من النهج الحالي ذي اﻷساس المشاريعي إلى نهج برنامجي ذي أساس قطري على النحو المبين في قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٧/١٩٩ المؤرخ ٢٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٢.

The President informed the Council that the FAO Conference had agreed to the revisions of the General Regulations of the World Food Programme.
أبلــغ الرئيــس المجلس أن مؤتمر منظمة اﻷغذية والزراعة وافق على تنقيحات اللوائح العامة لبرنامج اﻷغذية العالمي.
