16- تُسند الاستراتيجية إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا مسؤولية رئيسية عن تحقيق الهدف التنفيذي 3 الذي يرمي إلى جعل الاتفاقية " سلطة عالمية في مجال المعرفة العلمية والتقنية المتعلقة بالتصحر/تدهور الأراضي والتخفيف من آثار الجفاف " .

9. In The Strategy, the CST was given primary responsibility for fulfilling operational objective 3, which aims for the UNCCD " to become a global authority on scientific and technical knowledge pertaining to desertification/land degradation and mitigation of the effects of drought " .
9- في الاستراتيجية، كُلفت لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا بمسؤولية رئيسية في تحقيق الهدف التشغيلي 3 الذي يهدف إلى جعل الاتفاقية " سلطة عالمية في مجال المعرفة العلمية والتقنية المتعلقة بالتصحر/تدهور الأراضي والتخفيف من آثار الجفاف " .
