It commends the spirit of responsibility and self-restraint with which the Great Jamahiriya is handling this crisis;
وتشيد بروح المسؤولية وضبط النفس اللذين تتسم بهما معالجة الجماهيرية العظمى لﻷزمة؛

Expressing its appreciation for the Great Jamahiriya's encouragement of its two suspect citizens to appear before the Scottish court in Holland;
وإذ يثمن قيام الجماهيرية العظمى بتشجيع مواطنيها المشتبه فيهما على المثول أمام القضاء الاسكتلندي في هولندا،

RESOLUTION ON THE CRISIS BETWEEN THE Great Jamahiriya
قرار بشأن اﻷزمة بين الجماهيرية العظمى والولايات المتحدة

Taking note of the stand of the Great Jamahiriya which condemns terrorism, in all its forms, and denounces those who resort to it or encourage it, and its readiness to cooperate with any regional or international effort made to solve this problem,
وإذ يحيط علما بموقف الجماهيرية العظمى التي تدين اﻹرهاب بجميع أشكاله وتندد بمن يلجأون إليه أو يشجعون عليه، وباستعدادها للتعاون مع أية جهود إقليمية أو دولية تُبذل لحل هذه المشكلة،

1. To affirm the right of the Great Jamahiriya to seek compensation for the material and human losses caused by the sanctions imposed upon it;
التأكيد على حق الجماهيرية العظمى المشروع في الحصول على تعويضات عما أصابها من أضرار مادية وبشرية بسبب العقوبات التي كانت مفروضة عليها.

3. The summit decided to set up a joint committee, chaired by the Great Jamahiriya and the State of Eritrea and with the participation of the Republic of Chad and the Republic of the Sudan.
3 - قررت القمة تشكيل لجنة مشتركة برئاسة الجماهيرية العظمى ودولة إريتريا وبمشاركة جمهورية تشاد وجمهورية السودان.

I take this opportunity in order to commend the ties that unite the Great Jamahiriya with the Republic of India and to reaffirm our unreserved support for all efforts to strengthen relations between your country and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
ولا يفوتني في هذه المناسبة أن أثمن العلاقة التي تربط الجماهيرية العظمى وجمهورية الهند، ودعمنا الكامل لكل مسعى من شأنه توثيق العلاقة بين بلدكم وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية.

I take this opportunity in order to commend the ties that unite the Great Jamahiriya with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to reaffirm our unreserved support for all efforts to strengthen relations between your country and the Republic of India.
ولا يفوتني في هذه المناسبة أن أثمن العلاقة التي تربط الجماهيرية العظمى بجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية، ودعمنا الكامل لكل مسعى من شأنه توثيق العلاقة بين بلدكم وجمهورية الهند.

Having heard the briefing on the subject presented by the chairman of the delegation of the Great Jamahiriya,
- وبعد الاستماع إلى العرض الذي قدمه رئيس وفد الجماهيرية العظمى بشأن الموضوع،

Expressing deep appreciation of the position and the positive initiatives undertaken by the Great Jamahiriya aimed at finding a peaceful solution to this crisis that will be acceptable to all parties;
وإذ يعرب عن تقديره العميق لموقف الجماهيرية العظمى وما قدمته من المبادرات اﻹيجابية الهادفة إلى الوصول إلى حل سلمي لهذه اﻷزمة تقبله كل اﻷطراف،

The 27 February 1998 judgment of the International Court of Justice also confirmed the validity of the Great Jamahiriya's positions and the inadmissibility of sanctions.
كما أن حكم محكمة العدل الدولية ٢٧ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٨ جاء ليؤكد صحة مواقف الجماهيرية العظمى وبطلان العقوبات.

7. Supports the right of the Great Jamahiriya to receive reparations for the damages inflicted on it as a result of the embargo imposed against it.
7 - يؤكد على حق الجماهيرية العظمى في التعويض عن الأضرار التي لحقت بها نتيجة لفرض العقوبات عليها؛

15. The Great Jamahiriya therefore holds the view that any stance on human rights and cultural diversity must take into consideration the following points:
10 - لذلك ترى الجماهيرية العظمى أن أي موقف إزاء حقوق الإنسان والتنوع الثقافي يجب أن يأخذ بعين الاعتبار النقاط التالية:

17. Furthermore, the Great Jamahiriya is of the view that arbitrary respect for cultural diversity must be avoided.
12 - وعلاوة على ذلك، ترى الجماهيرية العظمى أنه يجب تجنب أي تعسف في تطبيق احترام التنوع الثقافي.

University education in the Great Jamahiriya is available to all, men and women alike, on the basis of merit and ability.
253- والتعليم الجامعي في الجماهيرية العظمى متاح للجميع ذكوراً وإناثاً على أساس الكفاءة والقدرة.

The Great Jamahiriya carries out numerous activities and innovative programmes in the spheres of education, culture and vocational training.
267- تنفذ الجماهيرية العظمى الكثير من الأنشطة والبرامج المستحدثة في مجال التعليم والتربية والثقافة والتكوين المهني.

The Great Jamahiriya recognizes the child's right to rest and relaxation.
292- وتعترف الجماهيرية العظمى بحق الطفل في الراحة والاستجمام.

Appreciating the flexible position taken by the Great Jamahiriya and the positive initiatives it has advanced with a view to resolving the dispute in a peaceful manner,
وإذ يقدر للجماهيرية العظمى مرونة موقفها، ومبادراتها الإيجابية للتوصل إلى حل سلمي للنزاع،

The Great Jamahiriya participates in all conferences held in the framework of organizations and conventions dealing with this issue, and it strives to always emphasize the need for dialogue and cooperation in the area of non-proliferation.
تشارك الجماهيرية العربية الليبية الشعبية الاشتراكية العظمى في كافة المؤتمرات التي تعقد في إطار المنظمات والاتفاقيات ذات العلاقة، وتدعو بشكل دائم ومستمر إلى ضرورة الحوار والتعاون في مجال عدم الانتشار.
