(a) Annex I to resolution 48/264 of 29 July 1994, entitled “Guidelines on the Rationalization of the agenda of the General Assembly”;

9. Adopts the Guidelines on the Rationalization of the Agenda of the General Assembly set forth in annex I to the present resolution, which shall be embodied as an annex to the rules of procedure of the Assembly;

The General Committee took note of General Assembly resolution 48/264 of 29 July 1994, entitled " Revitalization of the work of the General Assembly " , and to annex I thereto, entitled " Guidelines on the Rationalization of the agenda of the General Assembly " .
٣ - وأحاط المكتب علما بقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٢٦٤ المؤرخ ٢٩ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤، المعنون " تنشيط أعمال الجمعية العامة " وبالمرفق اﻷول منه المعنون " المبادئ التوجيهية لترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة " .

The General Committee took note of General Assembly resolution 48/264 of 29 July 1994, entitled " Revitalization of the work of the General Assembly " , and to annex I thereto, entitled " Guidelines on the Rationalization of the agenda of the General Assembly " .
٣ - وأحاط المكتب علما بقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٢٦٤ المؤرخ ٢٩ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤، المعنون " تنشيط أعمال الجمعية العامة " وبالمرفق اﻷول له المعنون " المبادئ التوجيهية لترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة " .

The General Committee took note of General Assembly resolution 48/264 of 29 July 1994, entitled " Revitalization of the work of the General Assembly " , and to annex I thereto, entitled " Guidelines on the Rationalization of the agenda of the General Assembly " . The provisions of the resolution and the Guidelines are reflected in the present document under the relevant headings.
٣ - وأحاط المكتب علما بقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٢٦٤ المؤرخ ٢٩ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤، والمعنون " تنشيط أعمال الجمعية العامة " والى المرفق اﻷول منه المعنون " المبادئ التوجيهية لترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة " ، وترد أحكام القرار والمبادئ التوجيهية في هذه الوثيقة تحت العناوين ذات الصلة.

3. The General Committee took note of annex I to General Assembly resolution 48/264 of 29 July 1994, entitled “Guidelines on the Rationalization of the agenda of the General Assembly” and of the annex to resolution 51/241 of 31 July 1997, entitled “Strengthening of the United Nations system”.
٣ - وقد أحاط المكتب علما بالمرفق اﻷول لقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٢٦٤ المؤرخ ٢٩ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤ المعنون " المبادئ التوجيهية لترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة " .

(أ) المرفق الأول (المبادئ التوجيهية لترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة) للقرار 48/264 المؤرخ 29 تموز/يوليه 1994، المعنون " تنشيط أعمال الجمعية العامة " ؛

5. In its resolution 48/264, the General Assembly, inter alia, commended the valuable work undertaken by the Main Committees to review their respective agendas, encouraged the Committees to continue that work, and adopted the Guidelines on the Rationalization of the Agenda of the General Assembly set forth in annex I to the resolution.
٥ - نوهت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٤٨/٢٦٤، في جملة أمور، بالعمل القيم الذي تضطلع به اللجان الرئيسية لاستعراض جدول أعمال كل منها، وشجعت اللجان على مواصلة ذلك العمل، كما اعتمدت المبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة، والمبينة في المرفق اﻷول لذلك القرار.

24. The General Assembly shall take further steps to rationalize and streamline the agenda, based on the Guidelines on the Rationalization of the Agenda of the General Assembly agreed to by the Assembly in annex I to its resolution 48/264 of 29 July 1994, and in particular shall make greater use of clustering, biennialization or triennialization of agenda items.
٤٢ - تتخذ الجمعية العامة خطوات أخرى لترشيد جدول اﻷعمال وتبسيطه استنادا إلى المبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بترشيد جدول أعمال الجمعية العامة التي وافقت عليها الجمعية في المرفق اﻷول من قرارها ٤٨/٢٦٤ المؤرخ ٢٩ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤، ولا سيما زيادة اللجوء إلى تجميع بنود جدول اﻷعمال أو توزيعها على فترات سنتين أو ثلاث سنوات.
