Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) (spoke in Arabic): On behalf of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, allow me to express our deep thanks and gratitude to the President of the Assembly for convening this all-important meeting.

Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) (spoke in Arabic): I wish to express, through you, Mr. President, the thanks of my delegation to the Philippines and to Pakistan for the convening of this High-level Dialogue on Interreligious and Intercultural Understanding and Cooperation for Peace.

61. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) said that his country appreciated the increasing attention devoted by the United Nations to development issues at such forums as the recent High-level Event on Climate Change and the impending High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development.

72. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) said that his delegation endorsed the statement made by the representative of Antigua and Barbuda on behalf of the Group of 77 and China.

58. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) said that his Government was working with UNHCR to meet the requirements of the international agreements to which it was party and to incorporate them into its national legislation.

Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) (spoke in French): The delegation of Mauritania aligns itself with the important statement delivered by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh on behalf of the Group of the Least Developed Countries.
السيد ولد حضرمي (موريتانيا) (تكلم بالفرنسية): يعلن وفد موريتانيا تأييده للبيان الهام الذي ألقاه وزير خارجية بنغلاديش بالنيابة عن مجموعة البلدان الأقل نموا.

40. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) said that his Government had always strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and rejected its systematic association with religious and cultural factors.
40 - السيد ولد حضرمي (موريتانيا): قال إن حكومته كانت دائما تدين الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله ورفضت ربطه المنهجي بالعوامل الدينية والثقافية.

65. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) said that his delegation supported the inclusion of item 166, which he hoped would give impetus to the lagging reform process.
65 - السيد ولد حضرمي (موريتانيا): قال إن وفد بلده يؤيد إدراج البند 166، وهو ما من شأنه أن يكون مبعث أمل في إعطاء زخم لعملية الإصلاح المتخلفة.

51. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) pointed out that his country's Personal Status Code guaranteed more equitable rights for women, while Mauritania's Constitution provided for their participation in political and public life.
51 - السيد ولد حضرمي (موريتانيا): أوضح أن قانون الوضع الاجتماعي يضمن للمرأة حقوقا أكثر إنصافا. ويكرس دستور بلده مشاركة المرأة في الحياة السياسية والعامة.

48. Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) said that his country was preparing a development policy based on the rule of law and promotion of human rights, taking into consideration national particularities.

Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) (spoke in Arabic): I would like to associate myself with the statements delivered by the representative of Pakistan on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and by the representative of Cuba on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement.
السيد الحضرمي (موريتانيا): أود أن أضم صوتي إلى ما ورد في كلمة ممثل باكستان نيابة عن مجموعة الدول الإسلامية وممثل كوبا نيابة عن مجموعة الـ 77.

Mr. Ould Hadrami (Mauritania) (spoke in French): It is a great honour to take the floor before the General Assembly, which is meeting to discuss the issue of the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), one of the most serious and widespread threats to health care in the twenty-first century.
