In that connection, I would like to refer to the words of Mr. Halldor Ásgrímsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland; in his recent address to the Assembly, he said that we must craft for ourselves a United Nations that is task-oriented, representative, focused and coordinated.
وفي ذلك الصدد، أود أن أشير إلى كلمات السيد هالدور أسغريمسون، وزير خارجية أيسلندا، في خطابه الذي ألقاه مؤخرا أمام الجمعية حيث قال إنه علينا أن نصوغ لأنفسنا أمما متحدة عملية المنحى وتمثيلية ومركزة ومنسقة.

The expert meeting was chaired by Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson, Chairman of the SBSTA, who officially opened the meeting.

The round-table discussion was moderated by Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson, Chair of the SBSTA and was organized as a panel discussion divided into three segments.

This workshop was held from 16 to 18 May 2002 in Bonn, Germany, under the guidance of Ms. Daniela Stoytcheva, Vice-Chair of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), acting on behalf of Mr. Raúl Estrada Oyuela, Chair of the SBI, and Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson, Chair of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA).
2- وعقدت حلقة العمل هذه في الفترة من 16 إلى 18 أيار/مايو 2002 في بون، ألمانيا، تحت توجيه السيدة دانيلا ستويتشيفا نائبة رئيس الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ، بالنيابة عن السيد راؤول استرداد أيويلا، رئيس الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ، والسيد هالدور ثورغيرسون، رئيس الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية.

At the 7th meeting, Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson (Iceland) reported on the inter-sessional consultations held in Viterbo, Italy, which he had co-chaired together with Mr. Philip Gwage (Uganda), at the request of the chairmen of the subsidiary bodies.
31- وفي الجلسة السابعة، قدم السيد هالدور ثورغيرسون (آيسلندا) تقريراً عن المشاورات التي أُجريت فيما بين الدورات في فيتيربو، إيطاليا، والتي ترأسها مع السيد فيليب غواجي (أوغندا)، بناء على طلب رئيسي الهيئتين الفرعيتين.

Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson, Coordinator, Methods, Inventories and Science Programme of the UNFCCC secretariat, referred to the recent death of Ms. Joke Waller-Hunter, her valuable contribution to the Convention as Executive Secretary and her special interest in cooperation on technology.
12- وأشار منسق برنامج الطرائق وقوائم الجرد والعلوم التابع لأمانة الاتفاقية السيد هالدور تورغيرسون إلى وفاة السيدة جوك والر - هانتر مؤخراً ونوه بإسهامها القيم في الاتفاقية بصفة أمينة تنفيذية واهتمامها الخاص بالتعاون في مجال التكنولوجيا.

At the 7th meeting, on 1 November 2002, the Chair of the SBSTA, Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson (Iceland), introduced the draft report of the SBSTA on its seventeenth session (FCCC/SBSTA/2002/L.13) and gave an oral report on the results of that session.
54- وفي الجلسة العامة السابعة التي عقدت في 1 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2002 عرض رئيس الهيئة الفرعية السيد هالدور تورغيرسون (آيسلندا) مشروع تقرير الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية عن دورتها السابعة عشرة (FCCC/SBSTA/2002/L.13) وقدم تقريرا شفوياً عن نتائج تلك الدورة.

At the 1st meeting, Mr. Philip Gwage (Uganda) reported on the informal meetings relating to this issue which he had co-chaired, together with Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson (Iceland), during the pre-sessional week, at the request of the chairmen of the subsidiary bodies.
31- وفي الجلسة الأولى، قدم السيد فيليب غواجي (أوغندا) تقريرا عن الاجتماعات غير الرسمية التي تتعلق بهذه القضية والتي ترأسها مع السيد هالدور تورجيرسون (آيسلندا) خلال الأسبوع السابق للدورة، بناء على طلب رئيسي الهيئتين الفرعيتين.

At the 8th meeting, on 12 December, the Chair of the SBSTA, Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson (Iceland), introduced the draft report of the SBSTA on its nineteenth session (FCCC/SBSTA/2003/L.16) and gave an oral report on the results of that session.

The second workshop, on insurance-related actions to address the specific needs and concerns of developing country Parties arising from the adverse effects of climate change and from the impact of the implementation of response measures, took place on 14 and 15 May 2003, and was co-chaired by Ms. Stoycheva and Mr. Halldor Thorgeirsson, Chair of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA).
وعقدت حلقة العمل الثانية، بشأن الإجراءات المتصلة بالتأمين من أجل معالجة الاحتياجات والشواغل المحددة للبلدان الأطراف النامية الناشئة عن الآثار الضارة لتغير المناخ وعن أثر تنفيذ تدابير الاستجابة، يومي 14 و15 أيار/مايو 2003، برئاسة كل من السيدة ستويتشيفا والسيد هالدور تورغيرسن، رئيس الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية.
