In parallel to this mission, my Special Representative visited Lomé on 15 and 16 September to hold consultations with President Faure Gnassingbé, Prime Minister Gilbert Houngbo and leaders of opposition parties on the political situation in Togo, in particular the crisis that emerged following the appointment of the chairperson of the National Independent Electoral Commission.
