The present, updated and revised report includes information from an additional 18 Governments, or a total of 63 Governments. In pursuance of Council resolution 1995/57, the report was also submitted to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-sixth session.

1. This report has been submitted in accordance with resolution 2000/14 (III) adopted by the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-sixth session.

3. The High Commissioner for Human Rights reported on the visit which she had undertaken from 31 March to 4 April 2000 to the Russian Federation, including Chechnya and the surrounding region, to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-sixth session.
3- قدمت المفوضة السامية لحقوق الإنسان إلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين تقريراً عن الزيارة التي قامت بها إلى الاتحاد الروسي، بما فيه الشيشان والمنطقة المجاورة، خلال الفترة من 31 آذار/مارس إلى 4 نيسان/أبريل 2000.

4. The Sub-Commission then requested the SecretaryGeneral to submit a report on the situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-sixth session and to the Sub-Commission at its fifty-second session, and recommended that the Commission on Human Rights should consider the situation of human rights in the Republic of the Congo at its next session.

7. In this context, the Commission decided to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan for another year, and requested the Special Rapporteur to report on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-sixth session.
