The Economic and Social Council would be able to draw on them in exercising its function of coordinating policies, as well as in exercising the new functions entrusted to it by the 2005 world summit, through annual ministerial-level reviews to monitor progress in implementing the internationally agreed development goals, and through the Development Cooperation Forum with regard to the ongoing dialogue on development cooperation.
