The aim of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television is to connect women working in the electronic media in countries in the North and South, with a view to increasing their participation and decision-making.

57. In 2009, the Discrimination in Radio and Television Observatory issued a report warning about the problem of discrimination based on gender, on disabilities and on physical appearance in the television program Showmatch.
