It is regrettable that, instead of assuming its responsibilities under the terms of Commission on Human Rights resolution 4 (XXXI), Turkey has chosen once more to hide behind its subordinate local administration in the occupied area of Cyprus in order to air its views through the circulation of a document full of unfounded allegations, distorted presentation of events and pure politicization.
وإن من المؤسف أن تختار تركيا مرة أخرى، عوضاً عن تحمل مسؤولياتها بموجب أحكام قرار لجنة حقوق الإنسان 4(د-31)، التستر وراء الإدارة المحلية التابعة لها في المنطقة المحتلة من قبرص لتعبر عن آرائها من خلال تعميم وثيقة مليئة بادعاءات لا أساس لها من الصحة وبعرض مشوه للأحداث ومسيّس تسييساً محضاً.

It is obvious that what is happening to the religious and cultural properties in the occupied area of Cyprus is a direct violation of international law and, more specifically, the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property, and the 1954 Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.
