1.21 The Department of Political Affairs will also conduct research and prepare analytical studies on the application and interpretation of the relevant articles of the Charter related to activities of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council, their subsidiary organs and ad hoc bodies and the Trusteeship Council in the areas of trusteeship and decolonization for inclusion in the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs.

Furthermore, the Assembly would encourage the Secretary-General in his efforts to eliminate the backlog in the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs and in the Repertoire of the Practice of the Security Council and request that he submit a report on both publications to the General Assembly at its fifty-ninth session.
