The principal advantage of an approach based on the law of the State in which the grantor is located is that it leads to the application of a single law to the creation, third-party effectiveness, priority and enforcement of a security right.

It should be noted that where the grantor moves from one State to another State that has enacted the law recommended in the Guide, different rules apply, if the law of the State in which the grantor is located is the applicable law.

Second, in many transactions, secured creditors meet the third-party effectiveness requirements of the State in which the grantor is located or register a notice only in the general security rights registry, because their main concern is the insolvency of the grantor.
