وتنصُّ المادة 17 على أنَّ للمراهقين الحق في " الحصول على المعلومات والمواد من شتى المصادر الوطنية والدولية، وبخاصة تلك التي تستهدف تعزيز رفاهيتهم الاجتماعية والروحية والمعنوية وصحتهم الجسدية والعقلية " .

Article 17 (d), while stressing the important role of the mass media in providing information and material from a diversity of international and national sources, also recognizes that the media should have particular regard to the linguistic needs of the child who belongs to a minority group or who is indigenous.

517- تحيط اللجنة علماً مع القلق بأنه لا تتاح للأطفال المقيمين في الجزر الخارجية النائية الإمكانيات الكافية للحصول على معلومات ومواد من مختلف المصادر الوطنية والدولية بغية تعزيز نمو الطفل وصحته البدنية والعقلية.

The Committee recommends that the State party take all necessary measures to ensure the right of the child to access information and material from a diversity of national and international sources of all forms, including through access to the internet, with a view to guaranteeing the child's exposure to a plurality of opinions.
