61. Montserrat is a member of CARICOM and OECS, as well as of the INSTITUTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH those organizations, including the University of the West Indies, the Caribbean Development Bank and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Union.

While there are always complaints about the management of the electoral process, the INSTITUTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH it are increasingly strengthening themselves with a more active participation of the civil society in the National Electoral Commission (CNE) making it truly independent, and beyond any suspicion.
