The Monterrey Consensus designated the former high-level dialogue on strengthening international cooperation for development through partnership of the General Assembly to become the intergovernmental focal point for general follow-up to the International Conference on Financing for Development and renamed it the High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development.

In that regard, in its resolution 57/250, the General Assembly decided that the biennial high-level dialogue, to be held at ministerial level, is to be the intergovernmental focal point for the general follow-up to the Conference.

2. Reaffirms that the High-level Dialogue constitutes the intergovernmental focal point for the general follow-up to the International Conference on Financing for Development, held at Monterrey, Mexico, from 18 to 22 March 2002;

9. The Statistical Commission is the leading entity of the global statistical system and the intergovernmental focal point for the elaboration and review of the indicators used in the United Nations system, as indicated in paragraph 31 of General Assembly resolution 57/270 B from the outset.

Furthermore, as mentioned above (paras. 4 and 5) the Commission is the intergovernmental focal point for the review of indicators used by the United Nations system and accordingly guides the work of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Millennium Development Goals Indicators, which could feed into the preparation of the annual ministerial-level substantive reviews.

7. At its thirty-second session, the Commission accepted the invitation by the Council to serve as the intergovernmental focal point for the review of conference indicators, and considered that work as a welcome opportunity to contribute its technical expertise to the ongoing debate on indicators.2

28. By its resolution 57/250, the General Assembly decided to reconstitute its high-level dialogue on strengthening international cooperation for development through partnership as the high-level dialogue on financing for development so that it became the intergovernmental focal point for the general follow-up to the Monterrey Conference.
28 - قررت الجمعية العامة في قرارها 57/250 إعادة تشكيل حوارها الرفيع المستوى بشأن تعزيز التعاون الدولي لأغراض التنمية عن طريق الشراكة بوصفه الحوار الرفيع المستوى بشأن تمويل التنمية، لكي يصبح جهة التنسيق الحكومية الدولية للمتابعة العامة لمؤتمر مونتيري.

(a) In its capacity as the designated " intergovernmental focal point for the elaboration and the review of the indicators used by the United Nations system " and, in response to the specific mandate of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), decided to launch a work programme to develop broader measures of progress;
(أ) بصفتها " جهة التنسيق الحكومية الدولية " المعيّنة لوضع واستعراض المؤشرات التي تستخدمها منظومة الأمم المتحدة()، واستجابة للتكليف المحدد الصادر عن مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة (ريو+20)، قررت إصدار برنامج عمل لوضع مقاييس أوسع نطاقا للتقدم؛

(c) The General Assembly should give more prominence to its annual agenda item on follow-up to the Monterrey Consensus and the Doha Declaration on Financing for Development and may wish to reaffirm the importance of its biennial high-level dialogues on financing for development as the intergovernmental focal point for the general follow-up to the 2002 International Conference on Financing for Development and the 2008 Review Conference.
