The President of the Meeting noted that States needed to be familiar with the Tribunal's internal judicial practice and the guidelines for the preparation and submission of cases before the Tribunal, in order to avail themselves of its dispute settlement services.

B. Resolution on the internal judicial practice of the Tribunal

This followed almost immediately after the conclusion of the fourth session of the Tribunal and the adoption of its Rules, the Resolution on internal judicial practice and the Guidelines concerning the Preparation and Presentation of Cases before the Tribunal.
وقد حدث ذلك عقب اختتام الدورة الرابعة للمحكمة مباشرة تقريبا، واعتماد نظامها، والقرار المتعلق بالممارسات القضائية الداخلية للمحكمة، والمبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بإعداد القضايا وعرضها على المحكمة.

2. Adoption of the Resolution on the internal judicial practice of the Tribunal, which is to set out in detail the practices to be followed by the Tribunal in the discharge of its judicial function.

49. On 31 October 1997, during the fourth session, the Tribunal adopted the Resolution on the internal judicial practice of the Tribunal, pursuant to article 40 of the Rules.

It was also decided to approve expenditures for eight weeks of meetings of the Tribunal in 1998 to enable it to consider and adopt the internal judicial practice of the Tribunal, the rules and practice of its chambers and the guidelines for potential parties before the Tribunal.

11. The Rules of the Tribunal and the internal judicial practice are the basic tools of the Tribunal in the discharge of its administrative and judicial functions.
