12. The Commission acting as preparatory body considered the topic of international cooperation on eradication of illicit drug crops and promotion of alternative development programmes and projects at its 8th and 10th meetings, on 19 and 21 March 1998.
١٢ - نظرت اللجنة بصفتها الهيئة التحضيرية في موضوع التعاون الدولي على إبادة المحاصيل المخدرة غير المشروعة وتعزيز برامج ومشاريع التنمية البديلة في جلستيها الثامنة والعاشرة المعقودتين في ١٩ و ٢١ آذار/ مارس ١٩٩٨.

2. Requests the Executive Director of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme to report to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its forty-second session on the follow-up of the Action Plan on international cooperation on eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and Promotion of Alternative Development Programmes and Projects.
٢ - تطلب الى المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة المعني بالمكافحة الدولية للمخدرات أن يقدم الى اللجنة في دورتها الثانية واﻷربعين تقريرا عن متابعة خطة العمل الخاصة بالتعاون الدولي على ابادة المحاصيل المخدرة غير المشروع وتعزيز برامج ومشاريع التنمية البديلة .

The third inter-sessional meeting, held at Vienna from 3 to 5 December 1997, agreed to the text contained in the document on international cooperation on eradication of illicit drug crops and promotion of alternative development programmes and projects (E/CN.7/1998/PC/7).
وفي الاجتماع الثالث لما بين الدورات ، المعقود في فيينا من ٣ الى ٥ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ٧٩٩١ ، اتفق على النصوص الواردة في الوثيقة المتعلقة بالتعاون الدولي على ابادة المحاصيل المخدرة غير المشروعة وتشجيع برامج ومشاريع التنمية البديلة (E/CN.7/1998/PC/7) .

1. Advocates the objectives of programmes and projects for alternative development, and of international cooperation for that purpose, referred to in the Action Plan on international cooperation on eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and Promotion of Alternative Development Programmes and Projects, which will ensure the effectiveness of the common endeavour to reduce the illicit production of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances;
١ - تؤيد أهداف برامج ومشاريع التنمية البديلة ، وأهداف التعاون الدولي لذلك الغرض ، المشار اليها في خطة العمل الخاصة بالتعاون الدولي على ابادة المحاصيل المخدرة غير المشروعة وتعزيز برامج ومشاريع التنمية البديلة ، مما يكفل فاعلية المساعي المشتركة الرامية الى خفض الانتاج غير المشروع للمخدرات والمؤثرات العقلية ؛
