In its resolution 55/222 of 22 December 2000 the General Assembly, noting with satisfaction that the creation of a permanent interpretation service at Nairobi offered great potential for Nairobi as a venue for the United Nations conferences and meetings, took note with appreciation of the efforts made by the United Nations Office at Nairobi to attract more meetings to its facilities.
2 - ولاحظت الجمعية العامة مع الارتياح، في قرارها 55/222 المؤرخ 22 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2000، أن إنشاء دائرة دائمة للترجمة الشفوية في نيروبي، يؤهل نيروبي إلى حد كبير لتصبح مكانا لعقد مؤتمرات واجتماعات الأمم المتحدة، وأحاطت علما مع التقدير بالجهود التي يبذلها حاليا مكتب الأمم المتحدة في نيروبي لجذب المزيد من الاجتماعات إلى مرافقها.

2. The consideration of the possibility of establishing an interpretation service at the United Nations Office at Nairobi has been approached bearing very much in mind the often stated desire of the General Assembly to achieve a greater utilization of the conference facilities available there.
