Temporal jurisdiction 1. The Court has jurisdiction only in respect of crimes committed after the date of entry into force of this Statute.
١ - يكون اختصاص المحكمة قاصرا على الجرائم المرتكبة بعد تاريخ بدء نفاذ هذا النظام اﻷساسي.

The Court has no jurisdiction in respect of crimes for which, even if they have been committed after the entry into force of this Statute, the Security Council, acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, has decided before the entry into force of this Statute to establish an ad hoc international criminal tribunal.
]٢ - ليس للمحكمة اختصاص فيما يتعلق بالجرائم التي يتخذ مجلس اﻷمن بشأنها، متصرفا بموجب الفصل السابع من ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة، قرارا بإنشاء محكمة جنائية دولية مخصصة قبل بدء نفاذ هذا النظام اﻷساسي. ولا يغير من ذلك أن تكون تلك الجرائم قد ارتكبت بعد بدء نفاذ هذا النظام.

The agreement to combine articles 8 and 22 in the original draft (A/CONF.183/2/Add.1) had been based on the assumption that the first sentence of the original article 8 (“The Court has jurisdiction only in respect of crimes committed after the date of entry into force of this Statute”) would be included.
